Ningbo is a sub-provincial seaport city in Zhejiang Province in the People’s Republic of China. It is among the oldest cities of the country. It had been part of the Silk Road trade before it became a major port. Today, the city remains to be an important source of revenue on the east coast of China. The Tian Yi Ge Bowuguan or the Tianyi Pavilion Museum is the most popular attraction in the city. This library dates back to 1516 and is considered to be the oldest surviving library building in the country. Other important attractions in the area include the Tianfeng Tower, Baoguo Temple, Tiantong Temple, Dongqian Lake, Hemudu Relics, Xuedou Temple, and the Mount Phoenix Theme Park.
