Ercan is an international Airport, situated east of Cypriot and is near a village named Tymvou. Formerly known as Tymvou Airport and renamed into Ercan after Turkish Invasion, it is now used as an official civilian airport of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Ercan is in close proximity to a lot of tourist destinations. Head east to Nicosia and see attractions such as theatres, museum and centers for different sports. Particularly famous is the Cyprus Museum, which exhibits the best of the archaeology of its capital city, Cypriot. Opposite of this is the neoclassical Nicosia Municipal Theatre, staging most of their cultural events all throughout the year. The most interesting site is the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, which was converted into a mosque and was renamed as Lala Mustafa Pasa Mosque. Visitors may also see the colossal St. Hilaron Castle, situated between Kyrenia and Nicosia.
