British Airways

As one of the largest airlines in Europe British Airways is the national carrier of the United Kingdom and one of the founding members of the Oneworld Airline Alliance. British Airways is headquartered in Waterside and has a fleet size of 223 aircraft. Its main hubs are located at London Heathrow (London Heathrow Airport) and London Gatwick Airport and the airline has a wide network of European, international and domestic flights. British Airways has another smaller hub at Manchester, Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok.

The airline has four travel classes BA First Class, BA Business Class, BA Premium Economy and BA Economy. However, BA First Class is only offered on long haul flights. First Class offers passengers the chance to relax in fully flat bed, the sleeper suit, in a pair of velvet slippers. This cabin also features in flight entertainment and passengers will enjoy waiter-service dining in the First Class lounge at the airport. Business Class or Club Europe features complimentary meals and beverages, cabins with Z-bed position, and in flight entertainment. Premium Economy or World Traveller Plus offers a 38 inch seat pitch which is more than the available space in World Traveller (economy class), additional recline, armrests, adjustable headrest, lumbar support, and in-seat laptop power.

British Airways' main loyalty programme is called Executive Club. This programme offers three membership level Blue, Silver and Gold and is a part of the Oneworld alliance network. Silver and Gold members will enjoy benefits such as dedicated reservation lines and access to airport lounges. The airline also operates an invitation-only programme which offers a lot more benefits in comparison to the Executive Club Gold membership.

British Airways is the parent company of British Airways Plc and the airline consists of several subsidiary companies including British Airways Travel Shops Limited, British Airways Holidays Limited, BA CityFlyer, OpenSkies, BAMC (British Airways Maintenance Cardiff) and British Airways Engineering. British Airways together with its franchise and subsidiary operations offers flights to over 150 destinations worldwide including flights from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch to Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Bari, Amsterdam and Athens. The top competitors of British Airways include Air France-KLM, Deutsche, Lufthansa and UAL Corporation.
